Eggsy is an exceptionally protective brother, son, colleague, and friend. Some of the most drastic decisions of his life have been rooted in a whole-hearted desire to keep others from harm: joining the Royal Marines was a way for him protect his country as well as honour the memory of his father, and joining Kingsman helped him to put the skills he learned there to further use. He plays it down, but Eggsy genuinely believes that if it's in his power to help someone then he has a responsibility to do so— whether that means taking a bullet for Harry, or risking his life to prevent a megalomaniac's designs on mass genocide.
Before meeting Harry, Eggsy found himself in far fewer life or death situations, but it's clear that he's no less protective of his loved ones even if lives aren't explicitly on the line. He took the fall for leading a police chase in a stolen car, insisting that his friends leave him alone and make an escape, and he instinctively forced his way between Dean and Michelle when the former was in a rage and wielding a knife. In this way it's apparent that he is an unquestionably loyal individual, and as such he takes the relationship incredibly seriously when he feels he's made a friend.
It should be noted that the term 'friend' isn't exclusively used for humans, in this regard. Eggsy shows a distinctive protective spot for animals— the aforementioned car chase ended in a crash that was the result of a swerve to avoid hitting a fox— and his fondness for J.B. is rivalled only by his adoration of his baby sister. The seriousness of this character trait can't really be stressed enough: Eggsy effectively threw away his opportunity to become Lancelot because he flat-out refused to shoot his dog, and he makes it clear that he wouldn't have been able to live with himself had he sacrificed J.B. for personal gain.

Eggsy isn't the type to think through a situation before throwing himself into it entirely, which means that he often finds himself dealing with the fallout of ultimately avoidable worst-case scenarios. His decision-making usually happens on a whim as a reactionary manouevre: stealing the car, for example, was his way of dealing with being humiliated by Dean's goon, which was a spur of the moment decision that he made when the opportunity to steal his keys presented itself. The consequences of taking it for a joy-ride around London didn't seem to cross his mind until he crashed, at which point he seemed almost perplexed by the fact that he was going to get arrested.
He can also behave recklessly when he believes other people to be in danger. During the first of the Kingsman tests, for example, he chose not to follow the lead of the other nominees and secure an air supply in the flooded room, but opted instead to risk holding his breath so that he could break through what he judged to be an escape route. There was no guarantee that breaking the glass of what he assumed was a two-way mirror would work: not only could the glass have been reenforced, there was also every chance that it could have been a regular mirror. Putting himself at the risk of drowning over a gut feeling was extraordinarily reckless behaviour— it just so happened that, in that instance, he was right to do so.

Eggsy can be incredibly petty when he wants to be, particularly when it comes to holding a grudge or getting one up over someone he believes has slighted him in some way. The concept of 'letting go' isn't something that comes naturally to him: whether through violence or other means, it's important to him that he gets the last word one way or another. For example, when Dean attempts to get rid of Eggsy by sending him out for Rizlas with a £20, Eggsy petulantly heads straight to the Black Prince to spend it on drinking with his friends. When one of Dean's henchmen later kicks him out of the pub, he gets his own back by stealing his car as loudly and blatantly as possible.
On a more serious note, Eggsy takes so small amount of pleasure in delivering a more lethal kind of "fuck you" as well. Deciding to kill Arthur was by no means part of the original plan he formulated with Merlin, but it's clear that Eggsy needed to avenge Harry's death (for his own peace of mind) by getting rid of everyone who betrayed him. The smug satisfaction he took in watching Arthur realise he'd been poisoned is similar to that which he displayed after killing Gazelle and Valentine: a job well done, vengeance well served, wrongs put to right to the best of his ability.

That Eggsy has a problem with authority figures might not come as a surprise to some, and the fact that it manifests in a belligerent argumentativeness? Yeah. In many ways it's par for the course. Eggsy has spent the majority of his life being looked down on by people who believe themselves to be his betters: he's vocal about his disdain for the class divide, particularly in London, and he doesn't pull his punches when he sits down with Harry to hear the story of his father. Even though Harry effectively just rescued him from jail he launches into an argument about how the system is stacked in favour of people born to wealth and status, which demonstrates his quick temper and the reflexive nature of this behaviour.
Eggsy won't be told what to do or how to behave by anyone he doesn't trust, and he can be impossibly stubborn when he decides he's taken a dislike to someone. This usually manifests in sulky behaviour, unwillingness to compromise, and hostile body language, all of which he'll use to push people away even when he realises it isn't in his best interests. He is often quick to judge others— the irony of which he refuses to acknowledge— especially when he's feeling particularly belittled. When Charlie provokes him in the sleeping quarters he wastes no time in squaring up to him, ready to fight, and has to be calmed down by Roxy before jeopardising his position as a candidate.
This happens again when he believes himself to have been singled out as the nominee to be given an intentional disadvantage during one of the tests: he challenges Merlin to his face, clearly puffed up for a nasty argument, and is summarily smacked down with the observation that the chip on his shoulder is doing him no favours. While he occasionally seems to be working on it, but it's unlikely that it will every disappear for good.
Powers and Abilities: Eggsy is a highly intelligent individual who possesses all the skills of of someone who grew up in a rough part of London, trained as a serviceman for the Marines, and joined a privately funded secret service of world-savers all before turning 25. He demonstrates exceptional reflexes, sleight of hand, marksmanship and strength as well as impressive proficiency in hand-to-hand combat, and is quick to learn with weapons he hasn't used before. He is also a talented free-runner and shows no small amount of skill as a gymnast, which he often uses as an athletic method of escape.
